Hello from London! People keep asking why I’ve been here twice in three months, which, now that you all put it that way, does sound like a lot. Everyone assumes there’s a secret boyfriend, a brand partnership or some glamorous reason for all the trips. I wish I could tell you that was the case, but I really just love London. I have a lot of friends here, and somehow I seem to make a few more every time I come.

More on the trip once I’m home. I’m flying straight from here to Sag Harbor on Friday, but until then, let’s talk about something decidedly American in honor of the Fourth of July: the safest street in the Hamptons. I thought I knew the answer. Then I started asking around.

So instead of declaring a winner, I think it’s more fun to turn it into a debate. One street is in Sagaponack, one is in Southampton and one is in East Hampton. Read the cases, then tell me which one you think deserves the title. (Paid subscribers, I’m looking at you.)

And for those of you who couldn’t care less about the Hamptons—or who have simply had their fill of them this summer—we’ll also be talking about how Ned’s Club decided not to raise their dues after RPS reported on their emailing debacle, $600 Hamptons blowout surge pricing, fake Vanity Fair covers, Warren Buffett's Gates Foundation pause, Wimbledon debentures, the new luxury arms race for access, and more. After the jump!
