Including: Streaming records, a JFK Jr. lookalike contest under the Washington Square arch, and a rapidly growing list of everything the show gets wrong about the 1990s.
The wedding episode was my idea of the worst horror that could happen to a wedding guest. Sweltering heat, two hours late, no apologies from bride or groom. I don't know if that really happened but that would have been an unforgivable sin.
I was in high school during that time period and I have to admit I that laughed at the notion that women over 25 were going gaga over a famous man they’d never meet. It was my territory to obsess over male celebrities. That’s what TEENAGERS did!! 🤣
Honestly I was initially annoyed by all the Love Story hype, but then had to admit to myself that that when I bought my dress for my very long-ago first marriage CBK’s wedding dress was my #1 inspiration, soooo…
I was 15 when they married and my style was basically Courtney Love meets Miss Havisham, but that image then coming out of the church stuck with me so strongly.
Love your thinking, thanks for sharing! There’s a very precise cultural reason CBK feels especially magnetic right now, and it goes deeper than fashion nostalgia. Her resurgence says more about what modern women are collectively longing for than about the 1990s themselves. Read more here:
I agree that when we look at photos and videos of her that regulated femininity, as you described it is definitely there. But I think that’s exactly what is missing from the character that is brought to life on screen. Sarah Pidgeon is a talented and beautiful actress, but as the character is written for the show, Love Story’s CBK lacks that
Great coverage and insights.

Loool yes and the script. There’s no way people were using words like content and platform in that context in the 90s
And therapy talk??
Nope, not happening. Maybe the script was written by a bunch of 25 year olds.
The therapy talk REALLY bothers my parents especially!
the dialogue annoyed me so much!

I loved her style before I was even a teenager. There are reasons for everything. (also that dress is gorgeous…)

Lisa and Lauren were twins. Carolyn was their younger sister. Something you got wrong! 🤷🏻♀️
Thank you for the correction! Will make it now and had a denote after my Meeting. I appreciate it!
The fabrication that annoyed me most for some reason was that, according to Narciso Rodriguez, the whole day-of dress alternation drama never happened - https://www.thecut.com/article/narciso-rodriguez-carolyn-bessette-kennedy-wedding-dress-love-story.html?utm_source=nymag_app_article_share
I linked this article lower in the story and completely Forgot about it. Really is annoying!
